Assam BJP leader Mira Borthakur, after being expelled from the party for going against the party stand, termed Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal as ‘masked actor’.

Mira Borthakur, who joined the campaign against the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Assam opposing the party stand in favour of the Bill, also termed Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass as ‘spineless’ while talking to News 18 Assam NE.

While attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Borthakur told the news channel, “Modi in his affidavit stated wrongly as unmarried,” adding, “How women would be safe in his hand?”

Borthakur informed that she would make everything public in a press conference on Thursday including the details of 26 letters she had written to Sonowal.

She was a former State secretary, spokesperson, media co-convenor and State Finance Committee member of the Assam BJP.

Borthakur also said she would reveal some secrets about the disciplinary committee of the State BJP on Thursday.
State BJP general secretary Dilip Saikia through a press communiqué to media houses informed about Borthakur’s expulsion as a primary member of the BJP.

Expelled BJP leader Borthakur, not only voiced against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill but also joined the signature campaign launched in the State against the Bill.

Talking to Northeast Now, after her expulsion from the saffron party, Borthakur said, “When I penned the book titled ‘Pratyahbanar Rajneeti’ (Politics of Challenge), the party should have expelled at that time. That is a document. They did not find any clue there to expel me.”

Borthakur added, “But they have expelled me for voicing against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and speaking against Rajen Gohain raising the issue of his alleged involvement in a rape case by writing a letter to Prime Minister Modi.”

Borthakur urged Prime Minister Modi to take action against Union Minster of State for Railways Rajen Gohain against whom an FIR was lodged for his alleged involvement in a rape case.
