Guwahati: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has shown immense dedication and timely intervention by successfully rescuing a team of seven members from the Animal Husbandry Department who lost their way due to heavy rainfall and darkness near Kamalabari Ghat in Majuli.

The Assam Police took the X handle and wrote, “Last night, a team of @FnESAssam  & SDRF rescued 7 relief workers (veterinary personnel & ferry men) from the middle of the Brahmaputra. Their ferry was returning after distributing relief, got stuck in a sandbar and lost its way. True Heroes!”

According to reports, the rescue team from the animal husbandry department went to Kartik Chapori and Bhekeli Chapori in Majuli for flood relief operations.

But when they were on their way back, the boat they were travelling failed to operate, resulting in a loss of direction.

When an emergency message was sent to the SDRF team immediately, they jumped into action and rescued all the people safely.
