Assam police rescue three missing Guwahati school girls from NJP station

Guwahati: The Assam Police were able to rescue three Guwahati school girls from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station on Tuesday.

All three girls were students of Sunshine Public School, Noonmati and they had gone missing on Monday after they came to school.

The Guwahati Police took to X and highlighted the successful rescue operation. It read, “A CGPD team from Noonmati PS acted swiftly to rescue 3 minor girls from New Jalpaiguri last night with the help of RPF. Girls are being brought back to Guwahati to be reunited with their families. Earlier, the girls went missing from Sunshine Public School in Nepali Chowk.”

The police were informed about the three missing girls and upon investigating they came to know that the students had left for West Bengal on a train from the Guwahati Railway Station.

Moreover, on Tuesday morning, the girls apparently made a video call to their families from Alipurduar station in West Bengal.

The Noonmati police immediately got in touch with the RPF personnel and alerted them about the girls. In a joint operation, they were able to rescue the girls and unite them with their families.
