Assam Police nab five Naga youths in connection with car lifting case

Assam Police on Saturday arrested five youths from Nagalnd in Golaghat allegedly involved in a car lifting case registered in Morigaon police station.

The five Naga youths have been identified as Bito Katty, Kimiyato Swu, Aboto Zhimo, Nagato Awomi and Hekato Sumi.

According to Assam Police sources, the youths had come to Golaghat allegedly to buy a car stolen from Morigaon when they were arrested, according to reports.

According to the superintendent of police of Morigaon district, Swapnaneel Deka, the arrest of the five youths from Nagaland could be possible after the confession of three others arrested earlier.

Notably, three others identified as Naba Das, Ashadul Rahman and Rana Bhatta were arrested in Morigaon earlier on Friday.

The Morigaon SP said that an inter-state network is involved with car lifting across Assam. Deka also said that the three arrested earlier in Morigaon had confessed to stealing the car and were planning to sell it in Golaghat to contacts from Nagaland. He further stated that the three led the Morigaon police to Golaghat where police managed to nab the buyers.
