“After receiving information, we swung into action and nabbed three of them from Dibrugarh at 5 pm,” said Dibrugarh’s additional superintendent of police Dhruva Bora.

While the minor is from Jorhat, Imran Ali is from Nazira in Sivasagar district and Bhairab Das is from Dibrugarh.

The minor brought the suspected heroin from Jorhat and handed over the consignment to Bhairab Das at Dibrugarh.

“During investigation, they have revealed that the seized narcotic drugs are heroin. But we have sent the sample of the drugs for forensic laboratory to confirm it,” said additional SP Dhruva Bora.

Bora said they are investigating into the matter.

It may be noted that Dibrugarh has become a hub of drug supplies.

The narcotic drugs come from Bihar through railway route and are distributed in Dibrugarh and the peddlers supply the drugs to their destinations.

Sources said the several students are also involved in the drugs racket in Dibrugarh.

“Many of the school-going students are also involved in this racket,” said sources.
