Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia along with other top-level officials handing over a cheque of Rs 75 lakh towards Assam CM's Relief Fund.

The director general of police, Assam, Kuladhar Saikia on behalf of the Assam Police family on Wednesday contributed Rs. 75 lakh to Assam CM’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

The contribution was made as a mark of solidarity to the large number of people affected by the recent wave of flood in Assam and to aid the government’s efforts in rehabilitation and reconstruction exercises,

State DGP Saikia along with other senior police officers of Assam Police handed over the cheque to chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the latter’s office chamber in Assam Legislative Assembly premises in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Chief minister Sonowal while receiving the cheque thanked Assam Police personnel across the state for showing their empathy with the cause of lakhs of people marooned by the flood in the state.

He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Police on behalf of the people of Assam for the benevolence shown towards lakhs of people reeling under flood in Assam.

Besides, a number of organisations, individuals and MLAs also contributed to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

Moreover, representatives of Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited donated Rs. 15 lakh, Assam Cricket Association Rs. 5 lakh and Numaligarh Refinery Limited Employees’ Association donated Rs. 23,22,130 to CMRF.

MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi, MLA Aminul Islam, MLA Nizam Uddin Choudhury MLA Mamun Imdadul Haque Chawdhury, MLA Bir Bhadra Hagjer, environmentalist Purnima Devi Barman, North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Tinsukia Commerce College, Chandmari Public Puja Committee, All Assam Development Authority, 61st State Conference of All Assam Ahom Sabha also contributed to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
