The glittering but small Assam Pavilion in India International Trade Fair (IITF), 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi has been awarded the gold medal for the best pavilion.

Bipul Das, Director, Assam Pavilion, received the award from Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Commerce and Industries in the award presentation ceremony held in the national capital on Tuesday.
The Assam pavilion was beautifully decorated by products of traditional industries along with products based on locally available raw materials.

Bamboo wood flooring coupled with Assam tea display and special tea tasting counter under the dome depicting Kamakyha Temple, along with live demonstration of muga yarn reeling were the major crowd puller.
It may be mentioned that earlier, Assam Pavilion was awarded gold medal for best state pavilion at India International Trade Fair in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
