The Assam Pavilion in India International Trade Fair (IITF), 2018 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi has been thrown open to the public on Wednesday.
India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) has newly constructed an Integrated Exhibition cum Convention Centre, replacing the old state pavilions.

This year, Assam Pavilion has been designed and decorated to exhibit the strength of the State in bamboo, wood and tea sectors.
Locational advantage of the State with South East Asian countries has also been showcased in the pavilion.
As the theme of IITF, 2018 is ‘Rural Enterprises in India’, products of prominent rural enterprises of the State like bell metal, terracotta, mask, Assamese jewellery, eri, muga and Assam silk, japi, decorative candle, water hyacinth products, areca nut leaf plate etc have been displayed in the pavilion.

Live demonstration of reeling of muga yarn and special tea tasting session are the major attractions of the pavilion.
It may be mentioned that Assam Pavilion has been organized at Hall No 12A at the ongoing IITF.
