Assam: Pathsala student goes missing before declaration of his HS result

A student of Krishna Kanta Handique Junior College in Pathsala of Barpeta district, who appeared in the Higher Secondary (HS) Examination 2019, went missing on Friday, one day before the declaration of the HS examination results.

The student has been identified as Chinmoy Sarma.

He is a resident of Bhogpur village in Assam’s Barpeta district.

Chinmoy is the only son of Jagadish Sarma and Namita Devi.

As per report, “On May 24, Chinmoy came to attend his computer class in Pathsala town. But he did not return back home.”

According to the teachers, staff members of the college and Chinmoy’s friends have informed, “Chinmoy was an innocent student in the class room.”

Chinmoy cleared the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination 2019 result of which was announced by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) on Saturday.

According to the family members of Chinmoy, the result was as per his expectations.

“The result of Chinmoy has been as per his expectations. So, we have failed to understand why he has gone missing,” said a member of Chinmoy’s family.

The family members of the missing student have already started searching for him as he has not turned up in two days.

Chinmoy’s family has also lodged a missing complant with at the Patacharkuchi police station in Barpeta district.
