Stressing that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s priority is the country’s security, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that the government would not compromise on the country’s security at any cost.
“Security is the top priority of our government. If there is no security, there cannot be development. Since our government came to power, there is a visible change in security scenario particularly in India’s Northeast,” Singh said while addressing a public rally on the occasion of inauguration of a border fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam’s Dhubri district on Tuesday.

“You have seen how the IAF has bombed the terrorist camps in Pakistan after the Pulwama attack. Enough is enough. Our Prime Minister has already made it clear that we will destroy terrorist camps as and when necessary. No one will be allowed to play with the lives of citizens,” he said.
“Our government is firm. We are not going to compromise on the security of the country. We are not worried if there is our government or not but the country must be secured,” said Singh.

He also launched a scathing attack on the Opposition parties, which are asking about the causality during the IAF’s bombings at Balakot, and said the figure of causality in Balakot will be made public either today or tomorrow but the leaders in Pakistan now know for sure as to how many terrorists were killed in IAF’s bombings.
“This is not the way to do politics. They are asking to our jawans how many were killed in IAF’s bombings. The NTRO has said that when the attack was carried out in Pakistan, 300 mobile phones were active there. Now count on your owns if the users of those 300 mobile phones were humans or trees and plants,” said Singh.
Singh said that during last five year, India has leaped from ninth position to sixth position as far as the world economy is concerned and added that the country’s economy will be in top three of the world by 2028.
He also said the government is committed to implement in letter and spirit the Clause VI of the Assam Accord and that there will be no compromise on protection to the ethnic and cultural identities of the people in Northeast.
