A drinking water project was inaugurated by executive director-asset manager, ONGC Assam Asset, S D Maske at the historic Dholebagan HS School of Charaideo district in Assam recently.
The school, established in 1919, is celebrating its centenary year and ONGC’s ‘Drinking Water Project’, commemorating the centenary year, will benefit the 700 plus students, teachers and staff of the historic school.

Providing clean and safe drinking water in schools, in and around ONGC’s operational area, is a CSR initiative by ONGC Assam Asset in association with ONGC’s All India OBC & MOBC Employees Welfare Association.
It may be mentioned that in the financial year 2017-18, ONGC’s School Drinking Water Project benefitted more than 10,000 school children in 32 schools in Sivasagar and Charaideo districts, at a project cost of Rs 1.07 crore.

In the financial year 2018-19, the project is being extended to another 52 schools, which would benefit more than 15,000 school children at a project cost of Rs 1.68 crore.
Inaugurating the projects, Maske personally interacted with the students of Dholebagan HS School, enquiring about various facilities available in the school and how ONGC can supplement further infrastructural development of the historic school.
Maske encouraged the students to speak openly and his personal touch made an impact on all.
On receiving the feedback from the students, he announced financial support of Rs 50,000 for sports items and musical instruments for the school and further assured to extend financial support for procurement of desks and benches for classrooms and science laboratory equipment under CSR initiative.
Maske also requested the school management to submit proposal for the same through the district administration at the earliest.
