NTPC Bongaigaon also joined hands with the rest of the country in celebrating the country’s 72nd Independence Day celebrations in a befitting manner.
Chief General Manager of NTPC Bongaigaon, Dipankar Bose, unfurled the tricolour and addressed the employees and associates on the occasion.
On this occasion, a total of 19 students of Class X, XII and ITI from nearby villages were awarded for their exemplary performance with NTPC Utkarsh Merit Scholarship.
The award carries a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 3000 for awardees of Class X and XII and Rs 5000 for awardees of ITI.
A colourful cultural programme by the children of Ankur Tiny Tots, Bal Bhawan and Notre Dame Academy, Salakati was also presented on the occasion.
Chief General Manager Dipankar Bose, president of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club Keya Bose, GM(O&M) Rakesh Kumar, GM (EMD) Jayanta Bhattacharya, GM(ME) Shri S.K Chowdhury and Commandant CISF were also present on the occasion.
