Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) has announced an extensive training initiative in multiple trades for a total of 5,647 apprentice slots across its various divisions and workshops.

Under the Apprentices Act, 1961, the initiative aims to provide hands-on training in designated trades in order to enhance employment opportunities for the youth of the region under the NF Railway’s jurisdiction.

This centralised apprentice notification outlines a detailed schedule, with online applications between November 4, 2024 and December 3, 2024.

Through this apprenticeship programme, NF Railway aims to provide skill development and practical experience to aspiring professionals in trades, including fitter, welder, electrician, mechanic besides many other technical categories.

With the intake of such a large number of apprentices, NF Railway underscores its commitment to fostering economic growth and empowering individuals with job-ready skills.

During the training process, the apprentices will be benefited with a work stipend.

The selection process will be based on a merit system evaluating the academic qualifications of the candidates, including marks obtained in matriculation and Industrial Training Institute (ITI) courses.

Following a document verification stage, the successful candidates will join the apprenticeship programme, enabling them to build technical skills that meet the industry standards and are relevant to the latest job market.

In Assam, NF Railway will train the youth in Rangiya, Lumding and Tinsukia divisions for jobs in its divisions and workshops.

This initiative reflects NF Railway’s dedication towards creating a skilled talent pool that not only meets the demands of the society but also supports sustainable economic development.
