The Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) in collaboration with the Assam Sport Climbing Association (ASCA) and the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) is contemplating to organise a North East Open Sport Climbing Competition (NEOSPCC) for the first time in Guwahati.

The competition will be held in the memory of Bimal Chandra Goswami, a veteran mountaineer of Assam, who was one of the pioneers to promote Sport Climbing in Northeast India.

The competition will be held on March 24 and 25 at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) campus, Guwahati. There will be two categories in the competition called Lead and Speed where both men and women can participate, informed the convenor of the NEOSPCC.

The age bar for participating in the senior category is 17 years and above and the participants need to produce their valid age proof certificate in original to participate.

The participants should bring their own Climbing Shoe (Essential) and Chalk Bag which is mandatory. Technical gear will be provided by the organisers. There is no entry fee / joining fee for any participants for the competition. The participant need to report at Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Campus, Lalmati, NH-37, Guwahati.

Certificates will be distributed among all the participants while trophy/award/cash prizes will be given to the respective category/group, the convenor of the NEOSPCC further informed.
