Assam minister for handloom and textiles, sericulture etc Ranjit Dutta on Saturday launched the Mukhya Mantri Krishi Sa-Sajuli Yojna (MMKSSY) at a ceremonial programme in Kokrajhar.

The programme organized by the Agriculture department, BTC with the help of district administration, Kokrajhar was attended by BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, BTC principal secretary Biren Chandra Phukan, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Partha Pratim Mazumdar and other senior officials of Agriculture department.
The scheme is to provide Rs 5000 financial assistance to poor and marginal farmers to buy equipments. A total of 19723 fatmers in Kokrajhar district will be given the financial assistance.
The minister in his speech said the scheme aims at promoting farm mechanization by giving financial assistance of Rs 5,000 each to a poor farmer to buy agriculture implements and tools.
He said the scheme would go a long way in enhancing the income of the farmers by boosting their productivity through farm mechanization.
The amount will be transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
