A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) or DISHA of Kokrajhar district of Assam was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Pramila Rani Brahma, Minister for Social Welfare and Soil Conservation of Assam in absence of its designated chairperson Biswajit Daimary, MP (Rajya Sabha) in the conference hall of  Block ‘A’ of the BTC Secretariat at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.

The meeting was attended by MLA Majendra Narzary; BTC Executive Members Doneswar Goyary and Rajib Kr Brahma; BTC Principal Secretary and Member Secretary, DISHA Biren Chandra Phukan; Kokrajhar PD, DRDA Pranjit Wary and members of DISHA from various implementing departments of all flagship central government schemes.

During the meeting, the chairman inquired one by one in details about the implementation and outcome of as many as 35 flagship programmes out of 41 namely PMGSY, PMAY, SBM, NRDWP, PMKSY, DILRMP, DDUGJY, MGNREGA, DDAY, DDU- GKY, NSAP, PMFBY, NHM, SSA, ICDS, MDM, PMUY, PMKVY, Digital India Public Internet Access Programme, Infrastructure related programmes of Telecom, Highways etc, IPDS, NLCPR, RKVY, SHC, AIBP, PMAGY, PMEGP, SBA and National Food Security Act etc.

In her speech, the minister said that this meeting is a platform to share the progress, challenges and mostly the outcome of the central government schemes through various implementing departments.

She also informed that the Government of India has entrusted them with the responsibility to supervise and monitor how the flagship programmes are implemented in their respective district.

‘The implementing departments, therefore, have to take into consideration the views of public representatives and other stakeholders during the implementation of any government schemes’, she added.

She further stressed on timely and effective implementation of every schemes for the benifit of the people.

She also took great interest for the completion of the pending works of National Highway 31 from Kachugaon to Srirampur. She asked the official of the Highway Authority to complete the works before 2019.

The meeting also reviewed the flow of funds, including the funds allocated, funds released against each schemes by the Government.

Earlier, the opening remark was made by the Member Secretary, DISHA cum BTC Principal Secretary Biren Chandra Phukan.
