The accused lady reportedly confessed her guilt before a ‘people’s court’ held by the Darrang Zila Mahila Samiti and reportedly sought apology with folded hands and head down.

The district level apex body convened this close door ‘people’s court’ at its Mangaldai Karimchowka office on Sunday evening following the news item published in the Northeast Now and a couple of print media.

The sitting was presided over by its president and a veteran women activist Rani Devi where deputy superintendent of police (HQ) Mamani Hazarika and a section of members of all the three elite whatsApp groups were present.

The people present there strongly refuted the shameful nature of the sexagenarian lady who is a wife of a veteran contractor turned social activist and a resident of Tengabari area of the town.

Finding no other alternative the so called aristocratic lady bowed down on the floor of the house and apologized for her misdeeds.

It is worth mentionable that the lady in question had posted one obscene photograph separately in three different whatsapp groups putting over 100 members of the groups belonging  from different circles of the society including senior citizens, writers, artistes etc in an awkward and uncomfortable situation.
