Guwahati: A fight between two friends due to a financial dispute resulted in the tragic death of one of them in Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Sunday night.
The incident happened in New Amguri village under the Balajan police station when two friends were arguing following a financial dispute between them.
In the midst of the fight, a man named Sokio Basumatary alias Boga in a fit of rage slit the throat of his friend with a sharp weapon resulting in death on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Derhasat Basumatary.
According to reports both men belong to the same village and the tragic incident has created panic among the villagers.
Meanwhile, the Kokrajhar police have detained the accused in connection with the gruesome murder.
