Jamia Islamia Jalalia Madrassa of Hojai denied of raising slogan ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in their peace rally on February 18 last at a press conference called at Madrassa campus located at Gopal Nagar in Hojai on Thursday.
Addressing the press conference, Jalalia society president Ahaji Jahiuddin and general secretary Maulana Aajiruddin said, “On February 14 in a barbaric terror attack our nation lost 49 CRPF personnel at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. In memory and to pay tribute to the martyrs, Jamia Islamia Jalalia Madrassa organized a peace rally on February 18.”

“Around 3000 madrassa students along with their teachers, staff participated in the rally and shouted slogans ‘Bhartiya Sena Jindabad’, ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ ‘Stop terrorism’, ‘Islam does not support Terrorism’,” they said.
They further said,”We are deeply saddened by what was highlighted by some of the media houses that in the peace rally ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ was shouted.”
They asserted,”We have full video recordings of our rally. No such slogans were shouted, this is a conspiracy to defame a sacred place.”

Addressing the press conference Bhartiya Janta Party ally organization, Jamayat-e-ullama Hind’s all Assam general secretary and member of Jamia Islamia Jalalia Madrassa Maulana Fakiruddin Kasmi also denied of the allegations and said he was present in rally from the beginning till its conclusion but there was no such slogan and even police officials were in the procession.
All India United Democratic Front’s Hojai district president and member of Jamia Islamia Jalalia Madrasaa Helaluddin Ahmed said, “For any incident the organisers are responsible, but the case registered against me and Assam State Jamiat-a-ulamaah president Maulana Mostak Anfar are beyond comprehension.”
