Hojai District Administration is preparing for a smooth run of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019.
“Hojai District Administration is all set to hold the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019 at No 10 Nagaon Lok Sabha Consistuency smoothly, with tranquility and as per guidelines issued by Election Commission of India,” said Tanmoy Pratim Borgohain, deputy commissioner of Hojai District along with ADC Prasantha Barua while addressing a press conference at in Hojai on Monday.

“At No 10 Nagaon Lok Sabha consistuency, elections will be held in the second phase, that is, on April 18, 2019 and results will be announced on May 23, 2019,” the DC informed.
“As soon as elections dates were declared, the code of conduct was promulgated,” Borgohain added.
Borgohain asserted,”For Conducting elections smoothly the employees are imparted proper training regarding EVM machines, elections norms in entire Hojai District and arrangements are done, On March 27 Nominations will be filed, On March 29 Nomination Papers can be withdrawn.”

He further stated, “Hojai District has three LAC’s – No 90 Jamnamukh, No 91 Hojai and No 92 Lumding.”
“Total voting population in Hojai District is 6, 40, 123 which includes voting population of No 90 Jamnamukh LAC which is 1, 99, 447 which comprises 1, 04, 886 female voters, 94, 557 male voters and 4 third gender; voting population of No 91 Hojai LAC is 2, 43, 072 which comprises 1, 16, 406 female voters, 1, 26, 659 male voters and 7 third gender and the voting population of No 92 Lumding LAC is 1, 97, 604 which comprises 94, 984 female voters, 1, 02, 618 male voters and 2 third gender,” maintained the DC .
“The total number of polling stations to be covered by videograpy is two each – at Jamnamukh, Hojai and Lumding LACs and the total number of polling stations to be covered by webcasting at Jamnamukh is No 10, Hojai is No 26 and Lumding is No 14,” states Borgohain.
