Chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, Hagrama Mohilary and Executive Member Lwmsrao Daimary on Wednesday laid the foundation stones for construction of new office buildings of the Deputy Director, Economics and Statistics, Executive Engineer, PHE, Kokrajhar Division No II and Superintendent of Excise at Kajalgaon in Chirang district of Assam in presence of BTC Principal Secretary Biren Chandra Phukan, Additional Principal Secretary Robinson Mochahary and other dignitaries.
On the occasion, the BTC Chief Mohilary first laid the foundation of office of building of the Deputy Director, Economics and Statistics which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.35 crores, while Lwmsrao Daimary laid the foundations of office buildings of the Executive Engineer, PHE, Kokrajhar Division No II and Superintendent, Excise, Chirang at the cost of Rs 67,59,500 lakhs and Rs 1.50 crores respectively as an Executive Member of the departments.
It may be mentioned that all these works will be done under State Own Priority Development (SOPD) of BTC.
During the programme, while interacting with media persons, Hagrama Mohilary said that BTC could not provide own offices for various departments especially at district and sub-division level due to lack of finance.
“But we are starting it now as we have taken it seriously,” he added. He further, asked the officials present to be sincere and regular in the office in the interest of the public.
Former BTC Speaker Paniram Brahma, former Executive Member James Basumatary, officials of PWD, PHE and Excise departments were also present at the event.
