Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated the three-day North East Convention-2 organized by Chanakya Barta, a fortnightly Hindi magazine in association with International Divya Parivar Society, Human Resource Cevelopment Ministry, Central Hindi Directorate and National Book Trust at PWD Convention Training centre auditorium in Guwahati on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that Chanakya Barta emerging as cultural bridge from every corner of the nation is helping all the country men to learn about the cultural affluence of the north-eastern states.

Prof Mukhi asserted that although Assam is hardly connected with the mainland of India through a narrow land of Kisanganj, still it has got all the cultural and intellectual potentials which make the State stand high with cultural and natural blessings.

Prof Mukhi also exhorted that language can never be a hindrance to achieve success and it is the knowledge which actually reflects the persons’ identity.

“If a person has intelligence and quality he can anyway excel in his life. Language is just a medium to communicate and not the knowledge itself,” he added.

He also urged upon all to develop one’s own language, literature and culture.

Senior writer Laxmi Narayan Bhala, editor of Chanakya Barta Dr Amit Jain along with a host of other dignitaries were also present at the inaugural function.
