Making derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media platform, a teacher from Goalpara district landed in police net.

According to information, the arrested teacher has been identified as Abu Taleb.

Abu Taleb has been serving as a teacher of Hindi subject in Lakhipur High School of Goalpara district.

On the basis of an FIR lodged by the president of Lakhipur Mandal Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the police of Lakhipur Police Station arrested Taleb.

The Inspector of Schools, Goalpara district, has already issued a notification through which Abu Taleb has been put under suspension for making derogatory remarks on the Prime Minister of the country.

Meanwhile Amitava Sinha, Superintendent of Police, Goalpara, talking to Northeast Now on Monday said, “We have already registered a case against the accused teacher for the derogatory remarks he made against the Prime Minister of India.”

“However, he has been allowed to go after interrogation. We are continuing our investigation and he may be brought to book if found guilty,” added the Goalpara district police chief.
