The foundation stone laying ceremony of more than one lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) under ministry of Panchayat and Rural Development Department of Assam was organized in Lakhimpur district along with other district of the State on Tuesday.
The programme was centrally started by the state chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and the ministerof Panchyati Raj and Rural Development, government of India at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
The government also planned to lay foundation stone of houses of the beneficiaries under PMAY-G for the year 2019-20 in every district with live telecast of the central programme at the block and gaon panchyat office.
In the view of this, Lakhimpur district administration also initiated the programme of foundation stone laying among 4718 numbers of beneficiaries out of total numbers of 6330 in the district on Tuesday.
The foundation stone laying programme was started at beneficiaries’ individual own premises from 8 am to 10.30 am.
