The Rahi said there is a great need for relief material in the state, especially in Barpeta.
Rahi executive director Dola Mohapatra said that after an initial assessment, the organisation has decided to send 10,000 dry uncooked meals, 100 family kits (containing essential items and hygiene supplies) and 300 packets of millet nutria bars.
“While villages closer to major roads have been benefited by assistance from various sources, people in the remote villages of Barpeta are suffering as they are out of immediate sight,” Mohapatra said.
