Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma enjoyed a horse ride in Guwahati after inaugurating the Guwahati Riding & Polo Club on Sunday.
The inaugural programme of the Guwahati Riding & Polo Club was organised at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, who had experience of riding elephant during his childhood days when he played the role of a child actor in popular Assamese movie ‘Kokadeuta, Nati aru Hati’, on his twitter handle stated that he had always felt an attraction towards the tenacity and the balance of Polo players and the horses they ride.
Saying that he is happy over the growing popularity of the sport, the Assam finance minister said with the inauguration of the Guwahati Riding & Polo Club would add to the “Assam’s dazzling sporting culture”.
Minister Sarma tweeted: “I’ve always been in awe of the tenacity and balance of Polo players, and the horses they ride.”

“Glad that this oldest equestrian sport is growing in popularity. Today I inaugurated Guwahati Riding & Polo Club. I am certain it shall add to Assam’s dazzling sporting culture,” he added.
