Assam filmmaker Manju Borah was honoured with the ‘Best Pangchenpa Film’ award for her movie ‘In the Land of Poison Women’ at the 66th National Film awards ceremony in New Delhi on Monday.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the award to Borah at the ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar was also present on the occasion.

The film ‘In the Land of Poison Women’ is a depiction of an individual’s effort to break the myth of ‘poison women’ in a remote part of Arunachal Pradesh.

The list of winners for the 66th National Film awards was declared in August this year.

Rima Das’s ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ won the ‘Best Assamese Film’ award, Dominic Sangma’s ‘Ma.Ama’ won the ‘Best Garo Film’ award and Bobby Sarma Baruah’s ‘Mishing’ won the ‘Best Sherdukpen  Film’ award.
