Assam filmmaker Manju Borah was honoured with the โ€˜Best Pangchenpa Filmโ€™ award for her movie โ€˜In the Land of Poison Womenโ€™ at the 66th National Film awards ceremony in New Delhi on Monday.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the award to Borah at the ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar was also present on the occasion.

The film โ€˜In the Land of Poison Womenโ€™ is a depiction of an individualโ€™s effort to break the myth of โ€˜poison womenโ€™ in a remote part of Arunachal Pradesh.

The list of winners for the 66th National Film awards was declared in August this year.

Rima Dasโ€™s โ€˜Bulbul Can Singโ€™ won the โ€˜Best Assamese Filmโ€™ award, Dominic Sangmaโ€™s โ€˜Ma.Amaโ€™ won the โ€˜Best Garo Filmโ€™ award and Bobby Sarma Baruahโ€™s โ€˜Mishingโ€™ won the โ€˜Best Sherdukpen  Filmโ€™ award.
