A hardcore United Liberation Front of Asom – Independent (ULFA-I) was apprehended by police in Charaideo district of eastern Assam on Sunday.
The arrested militant has been identified as one Rituparna Asom alias Surajit Limboo.
The operation to nab the dreaded militant was carried out by Sapekhati police station in Charaideo district.
Surajit Limboo had gone missing from his home on September 6 last year to join to join the banned militant outfit.
His joining the ULFA-I has been corroborated by surrendered cadres and also his own acceptance.
He was apprehended at number one Dhuniya Pathar village under Sapekhati police station.
The arrested militant has been identified as the son of one Fishta Limboo hailing from number one Dhuniya Pathar village under Sapekhati police station in Charaideo District.
The arrested militant had dropped out of school in class VIII.
