One dreaded poacher has been arrested by the forest officials of sixth addition of Kaziranga National Park from Sootea in Biswanath district of Assam on Thursday.

The poacher has been identified as Md Saidul Islam alias Borbabu of Boralimara under Sootea police station.

He was apprehended by the forest officials of northern range and later handed over to police at Bagori range of Kaziranga National Park.

His involvement was found in the rhino poaching attempt made on May 22 early this year with arrested poacher Akbar Ali of Baghmari in Biswanath Chariali and others of Biswanath district.

Earlier, he was arrested in two cases in 2016 registered under northern range and western range of Kaziranga National Park for poaching rhino and illegal possession of 303 rifle with ammunition.
