Dibrugarh University men football team advanced to the next round defeating Gorakhpur University by 1-0 goals in East Zone Inter University men football tournament held at Sambalpur University on Sunday.
Dipen Daimary scored the loan goal for Dibrugarh University.

The team will play on Monday against the winner of MG Kashi University and Purbanchal University.
Earlier, the Dibrugarh University men’s football team advanced to the next round defeating BBMK University, Dhanbad (Jharkhand) by 1-0 in East Zone Inter University men football tournament held at Sambalpur University on October 26, 2018. Dipu Mirdha scored the goal.
Meanwhile, the Dibrugarh University Women football team won the 3rd match in the East Zone Inter University Women Football Tournament 2018 held at MG Kashi University on Saturday defeating Calcutta University by gross 4-2 in penalty shootout.
In regulation time, the match ended 1-1.
For Dibrugarh University, Mridula Mech scored the lone goal in regulation time.
In penalty shootout, Dorothy Oria, Khrolo UT Mero and Snahyarani Tanti scored goal while Munmi Boruah missed the target.
Goalkeeper Jharna Gogoi saved three goals in penalty shootout to win the match. On Sunday, the team will play against BRA Bihar University in the last qualifying match.
