Dibrugarh Grahmbazar Muncipal Colony Durga puja committee is all set to showcase ethnic tribal lifestyle in this year puja them.
The artisans are busy to give final touch to the pandal.
The artisans were came from Calcutta and for past one month they are busy in making the pandal.
Every year, the puja has known as a biggest crowd puller because of its theme.

“This year our theme is based on ethnic tribal lifestyle,” said a member of the committee.
“Artisans from Calcutta are preparing the pandal and the Durga idol,” the member also said.
“This year we will try to give different theme to the crowd, he added.

“Every year we go for out of box theme and this year also we are trying to prepare a different pandal where people can enjoy a lot,”he added.
“We are using natural items to prepare the pandal and the idol,” said the member of the committee.
Moreover, all puja committees in Dibrugarh have taken different themes and cleanliness is one of the similar ideas initiated by the committees.
Rajesh Das, secretary of the puja committee said, “Our front side of the pandal where we have placed buffalo head to showcase a tribal culture.”

“Adivasi or tribal community is the primitive community, whose living standard is different from others,” he added.
“The community is also known for hunting. Therefore, we have showed the tools used for hunting. The idea has been propagated by our members,” he also said.
Das said they hope the children’s will enjoy very much in the puja.
“If once you come to the puja mandap you will believe that you have enter in a tribal village. Our artisans are working day and night to complete their work on time. We have completed 80 per cent of our work,” the secretary added.
Das, however, said this time they are hoping huge crowd because the Bogibeel bridge has opened and from Dhemaji side people will come here to enjoy puja.
More than 100 Durga pujas are held in Dibrugarh.
The puja committees have geared up for the biggest festival and doing everything possible to make their puja a eye catcher.
Dibrugarh district administration has directed all the puja committees to take adequate step by installing CCTV camera for the safety and security of people during puja.
“This year we are hoping a huge crowd because of the opening of Bogibeel bridge. Therefore, for the smooth functioning of crowds, our volunteers will be present 24 hours in the puja mandap,” said another member.
