A meeting presided by the deputy commissioner of eastern Assam’s Dibrugarh district, Pallav Gopal Jha was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office to discuss regarding the problem faced because of the water logging in Dibrugarh town on Tuesday.

The deputy commissioner instructed the Dibrugarh Municipal Board to recheck all the drains of the town and clear the blockage wherever necessary to ensure proper drainage of rain water.

He also instructed the PWD to check the drain at the Mancotta road and clear the blockage wherever required.

The PWD (NH Sub- Division) has also been instructed to take necessary steps in this regard.

ADC Dipu Kumar Deka apprised that pumps are being used to drain out the excess water from the DTP main drain.

The Dibrugarh Municipal Board chairperson, Soma Chakraborty said that DMB has already started drive to clean all the drains including the second main drain.

ADC Ranjit Konwar, circle officer (West) and executive officer, DMB Tarali Das and heads of various departments were also present in the meeting.
