At a time when the entire state of Assam is immersed in Durga Puja festivities, an incident of horrific twin murder has shaken the entire Demow region of Sivasagar district on Thursday night.

The ruthless killer has been identified as one Jangu Praja.

Family feud is believed to be the cause behind the heinous crime of twin murder.
Notably, the killer managed to flee from the scene of crime immediately after committing the double murder.
On the other hand, even as the news of the horrific double murder spread like wildfire, infuriated locals of the tea garden went in search of the killer.
But not finding him at his residence, the irate tea garden labourers vandalized his house.
The agitated locals also damaged the motorcycle belonging to the alleged murderer.
Even as the enraged locals tried to set the house of the accused on fire, police from Moran arrived at the scene and took control of the situation.
The police also pacified the locals not to take law into their own hands.
However, the locals engaged in a verbal dual with the police.
The locals also resisted the police from taking away the bodies for post mortem before nabbing the murderer.
