Sensation prevails in entire Biswanath district of Assam after a 72-year-old and his entire family have been classified as ‘D’ voters even after possessing legacy date of 1966.

Allegations are rife that according to a notice issued by the No 4 Sootea gaon panchayat, Lal Mian and his entire family have been incorporated in the ‘D’ voters list.

Notably, Lal Mian has also performed haj with an Indian passport some time back.

He has also been exercising his franchise in most of the elections held over the years in the State.

Moreover, his father’s name also figures in a statement regarding land records of 1930.

Now the sky seems to have fallen on Lal Mian who had shifted his base to Biswanath way back in 1965 from Nagaon district.

Even his grandsons aged nine and three years are also classified in the doubtful list.

Now the hapless family has urged the media to highlight their plight and impart justice.
