Guwahati: In a significant legal development, the Kamrup (Metropolitan) District Judge’s Court has granted a legal heir certificate to Garima Saikia Garg, wife of celebrated Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
The order legally recognises Garima Saikia Garg as the successor to Zubeen Garg’s estate, enabling her to exercise rights over his assets in accordance with applicable laws.
As part of the ruling, the court directed that records relating to properties owned by Zubeen Garg be updated in Garima Saikia Garg’s name. The certificate empowers her to handle matters concerning the ownership, administration and transfer of the properties through the prescribed legal procedures.
With the issuance of the legal heir certificate, the succession proceedings concerning Zubeen Garg’s estate have reached their legal conclusion before the court.
