Member of Parliament of No 10 Nagaon Lok Sabha consistuency Pradyut Bordoloi took stock of the flood situation in Hojai district on Saturday afternoon.
The parliamentarian along with former minister Dr Ardhendu Kr Dey, Hojai district Congress general secretary Bijoy Chakratory and many other party members visited severly affected areas like Kendulimari, Jugijaan and Kumrakata which are submerged by the surging water of River Kopili.

Bordoloi discussed with the people of the area and assured them proper help.
Talking to media, Bordoloi said, “It is shocking for us, as we visited these areas we noticed no significant measures are taken up by Hojai district administration to cope up with the situation and provide help to the 50,000 marooned families of 12 gaon panchayats affected by flood.”

Bordoloi asserted, “It is a big lapse by Hojai district administration and definitely I will discuss the matter with higher authorities.”
“Already 45 cases of Japanese Encephalitis are registered in entire Nagaon district. So preventive measures need to be taken by district authority before flood water dries up to avoid such cases,” Bordoloi added.
