With the rest of the other Legislative Assembly constituencies of Assam, a day-long programme on Clean & Green Village Mission for the 16-Haflong (ST) LAC was organized at Natun Simplangdisa village under DVD Block, Maibang in Dima Hasao district on Friday.
The programme at Baikho campus was attended by NC Hills Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member (CEM) Debolal Gorlosa, NCHAC chairperson Ranu Langthasa, MLA B.B Hagjer, EM for Education Nandita Gorlosa, MAC’s Nojit Kemprai, Bijit Langthasa and Ratan Jarambusa.

The programme was also attended by NCHAC Principal Secretary T.T Daulagupu, PD, DRDA & Secretary, NCHAC, Z .Nampui, SDPO of Maibang P. Baruah, Principals of Maibang HS School and Maibang Degree College, Mauzadars and Gaonburas of the area.
Addressing the gathering, CEM Gorlosa said that the all round development of Dima Hasao district is the main motto of his government and the development works during last two years in the district were quite remarkable.
He appealed to the youth to give more importance on education and thereby to uphold the rich culture and tradition of the community.

He also insisted on tree plantation and organic farming.
MLA B.B Hagjer said, “Since time immemorial, the tribal people are living amid nature. We should preserve the forest as well as nature around us.”
He stressed on creating awareness among the people of Dima Hasao in preserving the environment.
He further added that using of plastics is to be totally avoided to make Dima Hasao a plastic-free district.
EM Nandita Gorlosa and local MAC while delivering her speech spoke on the theme ‘Clean & Green Village’.
She emphasized on maintaining cleanliness around us and also in preserving the eco-system.
She assured that all efforts will be made for redressing the problem of the villages.
The Gaonbura and Assistant Gaonbura of N. Simplangdisa village also spoke on the occasion.
The villages and SHG submitted memoranda to the CEM for improvement of roads, bridges and other local problems.
As a part of the programme various incentives were distributed to the beneficiaries by the departments like Sericulture and Agriculture.
Free LPG connections under PMUY were also distributed to the beneficiaries of N. Simplangdisa by the Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department.
Under Chief Minister’s Health is Wealth mission sets of football and volleyball were distributed to the Ranachandi Rock Temple Memorial Club of N. Simplangdisa.
