To take stock of the developmental works, a five-member team led by a bureaucrat of the Assam government will visit Hailakandi in Barak Valley from May 6 to 9 next.

Additional chief secretary, social welfare department, Jishnu Barua, will review the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), POSHAN Abhiyaan and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) programme.

The team will review the flagship schemes with officials of the district administration, district social welfare officer, joint director – health services, and officials of other departments.

The bureaucrats will also visit Serispore, Gaglacherra, Kanchanpur, Vichingcha Part II and Narayanpur Part 1 Anganwadi centres at Hailakandi for inspection on May 7 next.

On the same day, the team will hold review meeting at Karimganj and then leave for Silchar. Progress of developmental works at Silchar will be reviewed too.

Earlier, a meeting was held at the conference room of the Hailakandi circuit house which was attended by the district development commissioner, Madhumita Chaudhuri.

The social welfare schemes taken up in the district was reviewed in the meeting.
