Acting on a tip-off, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel has successfully seized a big consignment of 4540 tablets of yaba (drugs having basic compositions of caffeine and methamphetamine) from the Kushnimara Border Out Post under South Salmara of Mankachar district in Assam on Tuesday.
The yaba tablets which were found in abandoned conditions have been suspected to be smuggled across Indo-Bangladesh international border.
BSF sources revealed that the yaba tablets were to be smuggled by throwing over the fence.
However, due to alertness of troops and because of prior information of attempted smuggling, the seizure was affected as informed.
Notably, BSF has earlier seized more than 5500 yaba tablets during this year on different occasions.
