Badminton Association of India (BAI) president Himanta Biswa Sarma was all praises for the Indian cricket team as they won the ICC World Cup cricket match against Pakistan on Sunday.

Sarma, who is also Assam’s finance minister, said the players of the Indian cricket team members have given the best gift to their fathers by winning the much anticipated cricket match against Pakistan on the Father’s Day.

He congratulated the whole Indian cricket team through his Twitter handle.

Sarma also applauded Rohit Sharma’s brilliant century.

Sarma on his Twitter handle on Monday stated: “15 boys give a brilliant #FathersDay2019 gift to their fathers by winning the #CWC19 match against #Pakistan at #Manchester on Sunday. Congratulations @imVkohli and Team. Well done @ImRo45 with that brilliant Century.”

The social media sites have been overflowing with congratulatory notes for the Indian cricket team for their 89-run victory over Pakistan at Manchester.

India who had first batted in Sunday’s match scored a total of 336 runs in 50 overs and had made the match a challenging one for Pakistan.

With Rohit Sharma’s smashing 140 and Virat Kohli’s 77, India scored 336 runs losing only five wickets.

Paksitan scored 166/6 in 35 overs before rain causing a halt to the match.

However, the Pakistan cricket team could score only 212 runs in 40 overs.
