Due to the worsening flood situation of the State, the summer session of the Assam Legislative Assembly has been postponed.
The summer session of the Assam Legislative Assembly will now be held on July 26.It was first expected to be held on July 18.
The Indo-Bangladesh Stakeholders Meet which was scheduled to be held in Guwahati on July 19 and 20 has also been postponed.
Assam Legislative Assembly speaker Hitendranath Goswami has announced that the decision to postpone the summer session of the Assembly has been taken after the legislators requested chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to hold the session at a later date.
Similarly, due to the problems arising due to the worsening flood situation in the State, the Indo-Bangladesh Stakeholders Meet scheduled to be held on July 19 and July 20 in Guwahati, has been postponed.
The Assam government in collaboration with Union ministry of commerce was scheduled to organize a two-day Indo-Bangladesh Stakeholders’ Meet on July 19 and 20 in Guwahati regarding the BBIN Motor Vehicle Agreement and the Agreement to provide access of Chittagong and Mongla Ports to the Northeast India.
The aim of the meet was for generating awareness about the opportunities made available by these path-breaking agreements, addressing loose ends during their operationalization, and harnessing comprehensive cooperation of all relevant stakeholders of India and Bangladesh.
