An Army officer by profession and currently posted in Border Roads Organization (BRO) at Tezpur in Assam, Col Tribhuwan Singh Dhami is no stranger amongst the body building circles.
The officer hails from Uttarakhand and has been into professional body building for last 33 years. His past laurels include the titles of Mr Delhi, Mr Delhi University, Mr India University (1985-88), Mr North India, Mr India (1987-88) and Mr Assam (2017).
He also won the title of Mr North East (2018) at a glittering event in Guwahati where he was also the oldest participant at an age of 51 years.
Very recently, Col Tribhuwan Singh Dhami has added another feather in his cap by getting selected to represent India in the Hercules Olympia International Body Building Competition to be held in Delhi on September 28 and 29 next.
He happens to be the only officer of the Indian Armed Forces till date who would represent the country at a body building event of such a stature.
Lt Col Harsh Wardhan Pande, PRO (Defence), Tezpur stated that is was a matter of great pride for the nation that a serving Army officer was going to represent the country for the first time in a world class body building event.
This would motivate many young officers and jawans to take up the sport and to carve a niche for themselves, he said.
