Additional principal secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr P K Mishra reviewed the state disaster preparedness with concerned government officials of Assam Government at Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) Conference Hall on Friday.
The meeting was initiated with a presentation on the activities of ASDMA on various disaster preparedness in the state which was followed by the comments and views of the officials on the same.

Dr Mishra emphasized on the need to make effort to sustain all lessons learnt from past disasters in the State.
Further he stressed on the need to have realistic preparedness measures on the ground for effective handling of disasters and enhance community participation in disaster management.
He appreciated the Government of Assam and ASDMA for their efforts made in respect of disaster preparedness in the State as one of the forerunners in the country.

The meeting was attended by chief secretary to the Government of Assam Alok Kumar, additional chief secretary to the Government of Assam Kumar Sanjay Krishna, director general of police Kuladhar Saikia, principal secretary to the Government of Assam Rajesh Prasad, principal secretary of Water Resource Department Hemanta Narzary, special DGP and amp; director of fire and amp; emergency services Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, and senior officials from Water Resource Department, Public Works Department (NH & amp;B), Public Works Department (Road), Fire & Emergency Services, Food and Civil Services and elementary education department.
