Additional chief secretary of Home and Political, Revenue and Disaster Management departments of Assam, Kumar Sanjay Krishna made a sudden visit to Mayong Revenue Circle Office, Mayong Block Development Office of Morigaon district and Sonapur Revenue Circle Office of Kamrup Metro district on Monday.

During this sudden visit, the additional chief sdcretary took stock of the works of the circle offices in implementing various schemes, projects of Revenue Department and progress of NRC updation process.

The additional chief secretary, first visited the Mayong Revenue Circle Office and reviewed the different ongoing projects, schemes in the circle.  He called upon the officials to follow the rules of good governance to take the development schemes and projects of Revenue Department closer to the people.

He further directed concerned officials of Revenue Department to take appropriate measures for proper maintenance and preservation of important office records and documents. He also underlined the importance of maintaining proper infrastructure of the revenue circle offices.

Next, the additional chief secretary visited Mayong Block Development Office and took stock of the progress of NRC updation process. The senior bureaucrat laid special emphasis on speedy disposal of claims and objections regarding NRC updation.

He also also paid a sudden visit to the Sonapur Revenue Circle Office and took stock of works of the Revenue Department and NRC updation process. During his visit to both the circle offices, the additional chief secretary also interacted with kanangus, mandals and other staff of the offices.

The additional chief secretary mentioned the Government’s initiatives to bring revenue service closer to the people of the State and stressed on integrity and accountability of all the officials. He also underscored the apt use of information technology in delivering service to the people.
