The Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government on Friday won the trust vote in the Rajasthan Assembly.

This came after a three-hour-long debate and the chief minister won the motion of confidence through voice vote.

While addressing the Assembly, Gehlot accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of conspiring to topple his government but said that the saffron party’s wishes will never be fulfilled.

“Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, Opposition’s mission to topple government continues,” chief minister Gehlot said.

“What you did in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh Goa and Manipur. You have no concern over whether democracy is in danger,” he added.

Gehlot said he is satisfied with the performance of MLAs and the public has liked the work done by them.

There hasn’t been a tradition in Rajasthan to illegally tap phones of MP and MLAs, Gehlot added.

Are agencies like ED, CBI and Income Tax department not being misused in the country? asked Rajasthan CM.

Former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot said despite various attempts by the opposition, the result is in favour of the govt.

“This has put a full stop on all suspicions that were rising,” Pilot said.

“A roadmap has been prepared for all the issues that were being raised. I have complete faith, that roadmap will be announced timely,” he added.
