Further, during the closure, the BRTF was directed to clear the debris and take up the road restoration and construction works on both the BCT as well as OKSRT road by deploying maximum excavator and necessary manpower.
During the inspection, Swaroop interacted with the affected family members of Kaspi village who had suffered and endured the nature’s vagaries on July 8 last.
Besides loss of property, a human life was also lost on the fateful day.
The DC assured the affected family members that relief assistance would be provided soon by the Singchung ADC through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) for the damaged houses and hotels.
The deputy commissioner further observed that the BCT road has suffered major rocky as well as sandy landslides and road washouts in several areas.
The new diversion alignment works of BCT ahead of Jamiri circle is under progress, however, in the 93-97 km stretch, very few machineries were deployed and it remained completely blocked.
The deputy commissioner observed that it would be of immense help to the public, tourists and the agency themselves if BRTF deploys more numbers of new excavators.
The DC also wants the BRTF to engage more manpower to expedite the work and ensure timely completion of the project, which is of strategic importance.
