The vice principal of GHSS Dambuk in Arunachal Pradesh, Toni Pertin, has been selected by Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi for the national teacher award.

The news came as much joy to the students and teaching community of Government Higher Secondary School, Dambuk and Government Secondary School, Parbuk under Lower Dibang Valley district including the entire educational department of the district and the state.

In a confirmation and invitation letter to Toni Pertin, the Ministry’s director, G Vijaya Bhaskar, said that, Pertin has been selected for the National Award to Teachers, 2018 for his sincerity and dedication in both academic and administrative skills.

Pertin will receive the prestigious award on September 5 next in New Delhi which comprises a certificate of merit and a cash award of Rs 50,000 along with a silver medal.

Apart from Pertin, two more lady teachers were also selected from the State to present their works and programme taken up so far before the jury of five members at New Delhi recently.

But there is no confirmation of selection of the two ladies, but Pertin received the selection letter and invitation on Tuesday soon after returning from New Delhi.

Pertin presented his success model to the selection board in the national capital.

On Pertin’s selection, entire students and teaching communities of GHSS Dambuk and GSS Parbuk felt a sense of pride.

Even celebrations were seen among the department of education including the people from Pertin’s home region Mebo and his native Kiyit village.

The congratulatory messages started pouring in appreciating the sincerity and dedication of Pertin which brought immense change in the schools of GSS Parbuk and GHSS Dambuk.

Many certificates and awards were received in the name of school during my time as headmaster at GSS Parbuk, informed Pertin.

Toni Pertin, born to Late Akodong Pertin and Late Daseng Pertiin of Kiyin village under Mebo Sub-Division is the youngest son out of couple of siblings.

He did his initial schoolings from Primary School, Kiyit, Middle School, Borguli, Secondary and Higher Secondary from GHSS Mebo and completed his MA in Economics and B Ed from the then Arunachal University (RGU now) and Dibrugarh University respectively.
