Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday finally found its place in the Sainik School map of the country.
The first Sainik School of Arunachal Pradesh was inaugurated at Niglok in East Siang District by State Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday.

The Arunachal Government will provide financial support for infrastructure development of the Institute.
In a meeting held on September 5 last, chaired by East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak in Pasighat in connection with the forthcoming central Solung festival celebration, which Chief Minister Pema Khandu is expected to attend along with Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singhand Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, it was decided that the Sainik School would be inaugurated in the same day.
Earlier, the Sainik School was scheduled to start from August 27 last.
Arunachal Governor Gen B D Mishra had underscored that one of the three Sainik schools, sanctioned for the State, ‘must be one of best schools in the country’.
The Governor urged upon all stakeholders to put in a joint effort in providing the best Sainik School in the country to the children.
The Governor also advised the State Chief Secretary to pass directions to all the Deputy Commissioner to inform all school children through the Deputy Directors of School Education in the districts and headmasters of the schools to motivate maximum number of students to fill up the forms and appear for first ever entrance examination in Arunachal Pradesh for the School.
Captain Edwin Jothirajan, principal of Sainik School, Goalpara, is presently overseeing the work, till a regular principal joins.
