Loiliang village under Tezu Sadar Circle in Arunachal Pradesh has been selected to be developed as a model village under the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana (CMAGY).
Loiliang is one of the oldest villages in the Anjaw district and it has retained its cultural and traditional significance since time immemorial. It has also been selected as one of the two Model Cultural Villages in Arunachal Pradesh.

During a programme, organized on Thursday at the premises of Government Primary School, Loiliang, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Dr Mohesh Chai formally declared that Loiliang would be developed as a model village.
Terming the day as a historic one for the people of Loiliang, Dr Chai said, it will embark in a new era of development where the villagers would be provided with 24×7 piped drinking water, electricity at household level, primary school, primary health infrastructure, internal roads, avenues of employment generation besides the village would be made open defecation free.
Further asserting that all developmental activities would be taken up in a phased manner, the minister shared his idea of developing Loiliang as a cultural hub in tourism point of view.

Meanwhile, Dr Chai encouraged the youth to make good use of smart phones. He said the youths through smart phones can search about the schemes and policies of the Government for their own awareness.
He also asked the youth to visit www.arunachalbudget.in for broadening their knowledge about the plans and policies of the State Government.
The minister also spoke in details about his plan to send some women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) to Jorhat in Assam for obtaining industrial training where they would get skill training to make saleable items by using raw materials available around.
“This will help them to uplift their economic status,” he said.
Dr Chai further shared his idea to open farmers’ co-operative societies to provide market for cardamom and other agricultural and allied produces’ growers.
“Policy of my department will be farmer-centric,” he said.
The minister also highlighted various Central and State Government plans and policies and other developmental activities that the district has witnessed in the recent years.
Chai also announced that an engineering college in Tezu under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan has already been sanctioned.
Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki and a few public leaders also spoke on the occasion.
