In what could be a big boost to the tourism industry of Arunachal Pradesh, Taj Hotels could soon be investing or managing hotels in the hill state soon.

State Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday held a meeting with Taj group officials and discussed on the prospects of opening hotels, jungle safari lodges and homestays in the state.

In a tweet, the CM said, “We are elated that one of India’s largest corporate group- the @TajHotels is keen on investing/managing hotels in Arunachal. Had discussion with the #Taj officials on scope for the opening of hotels, jungle safari lodges & homestays in Arunachal today in New Delhi.”

 

The tourism industry of Arunachal Pradesh in recent past has grown in stature and both domestic and foreign tourists have flown into the state in large numbers.

“With Taj Hotels investing in Arunachal Pradesh, the tourism industry will receive a huge boost,” said a tourism department source.

Even though much details have been divulged about Friday’s meeting yet, but the department is hopeful that Taj will finally enter the state and help the tourism grow by constructing a few state-of-the-art hotels.
